The launch of this year’s First Capital Bank (FCB) under-20 league is scheduled for Mangochi Stadium on Saturday.
FCB Head of Marketing Twikale Chirwa said the new sponsorship package for the competition will be unveiled during the launching ceremony.
“But be assured that there is a big improvement this year as compared to previous years. We are a true friend of youth football and we cannot let the game down. We are planning for something big on Saturday and, for sure, it will be one of the best football sponsorships in as far as youth football is concerned,” Chirwa said.
He said the bank believes in the youth because they are the future of the game.
“At First Capital Bank, belief comes first. We do not need to be reminded that the future of the Super League and, indeed, our national teams, is in the youth.

This developmental league has contributed about 80 percent of the players we see today in various Super League and national teams.
“These players are, indeed, coming from the FCB Under-20 League. We will therefore continue supporting this league based on the value it brings to the Malawi nation. As such, we will launch the league in Mangochi on Saturday,” Chirwa said.
National Youth Football Association General Secretary Joe Sawerengera said they are geared for the event.
“We have completed all arrangements for a grand launch. We are confident that this league will go a long way in unearthing talent that will feed Super League teams. We therefore urge all football fans to come to Mangochi Stadium in large numbers and see what this season has in store for them,” Sawerengera said.
