FINCA Malawi has unveiled a K100 million sponsorship for Southern Region Football League (SRFL).
This means the competition will be branded 2026 Finca Southern Region Premier League under the theme #MpiraUyake.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony in Blantyre yesterday, Finca Malawi Chief Commercial Officer Madalitso Jonazi said football remains a powerful platform that unites communities and inspires young people across the country.
“Football is more than just a game. It is a powerful platform that unites communities, inspires young people and brings pride and hope to towns and villages across our country,” he said.

Jonazi said K40 million of the package will directly support the running of the league, while K60 million will fund promotional activities and financial inclusion initiatives to be implemented jointly with league administrators.
From the K40 million package, K16.15 million has been earmarked for team prizes, with the league champions expected to receive a record K8 million while runners-up will pocket K3 million.
Teams finishing on positions three to eight will also get prize money.
Jonazi said the sponsorship will also cater for individual awards such as top goal scorer and football equipment including trophies, medals and match balls.

“The partnership will also support league administration and officiation to ensure the competition is professionally managed. Beyond the competition, the partnership will promote financial literacy and economic empowerment among communities that support football.
“We will roll out financial literacy campaigns at match venues and within surrounding communities to help supporters and entrepreneurs understand how to manage their finances and grow their businesses,” he said.
Jonazi further said the sponsorship will also create opportunities for players, fans and small-scale traders operating around football matches to access Finca Malawi savings and loan products.
Southern Region Football Association chairperson Dyles Kachala said they are delighted with the sponsorship.
“We will therefore do our best to promote the Finca brand. Finca has done the right thing by joining us. We will ensure that they reap the benefits of sponsoring us,” he said.
Football Association of Malawi (Fam) president Fleetwood Haiya commended Finca for choosing to support football.
“The impact that this sponsorship will bring is beyond football sponsorship. It will transform both football and lives of many people. Thanks for trusting football to be the vehicle for your brand to ride on,” he said
