Football Legends Association, in partnership with Ebenezer Investment, has rolled out the first phase of skills development training targeting former footballers.
This follows a partnership which Ebenezer and FLA signed last year.
The partnership was facilitated by grassroot organisation Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu.
The first cohort of eight former footballers commenced the training at Ebenezer Investments offices in Lilongwe yesterday.

Mighty Tigers former coach Leo Mpulula, ex-Silver Strikers captain Itai Nundwe, former Flames right back Allan Kamanga and former Kamuzu Barracks goalkeeper Lehman Nthala are among the eight players undergoing the training.
FLA Legal Director Gomezgani Mchawi said the training aligned well with their mission, which is empowering retired footballers.
“This is just the beginning of more initiatives which the organisation has lined up for its members this year,” he said.
On his part, Chimango Munthali, founding director for Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu, urged the former footballers to fully utilise the training.

“Not all of you can take up roles as coaches or administrators; some of you have entrepreneurship skills. So, this is your opening,” Munthali said.
Speaking on behalf of Ebenezer Investments, James Nyirongo said the initiative, which is the first of its kind, would be used as a pilot initiative to explore more opportunities between FLA and Ebenezer Investments.
“We are commencing a journey that promises more opportunities in future; as such, I would like to urge you all, participants, to pay serious attention to this training. This is not about Ebenezer or FLA; this is about you growing your skills,” Nyirongo said.
Ebenezer has invested about K8 million in training the first cohort of the former footballers.
The training is expected to run for a month.
