South Africa-based Malawi National Football Team attacker Gabadinho Mhango’s devastating form continued on Wednesday night when he inspired Moroka Swallows to a 2-1 win over Chippa United in a DStv Premiership match played at Buffalo City Municipality Stadium in East London, South Africa.
Mhango equalised with a beautiful free-kick in the 71st minute from nearly 20 yards out when Swallows were 1-0 down to bring his goal tally to six.
This was after the home team had scored through Kayden Francis in the 17th minute.
Swallows went on to score the winning goal through Lwanda Mbanjwa after Chippa’s failure to defend a set piece.
Mhango was a constant threat to the hosts throughout the match and was deservedly named man of the match.

The former Orlando Pirates striker told supersport.com that he was excited with his performance but that his aim was to help the team survive relegation.
He went on to say that he was pleased with his current form and believes it will benefit him in future games as well as the Flames’ World Cup assignments.
“I am happy that the confidence is finally back and I am now scoring in almost every game, which is good for me and my fans. The team is trying to be in a good position to avoid relegation and I believe we will not be relegated.
“I am proud that I am scoring and this has boosted my confidence. I will keep trying and keep going,” Mhango said.

Former Flames attacking midfielder Sherry Msuku said Mhango’s current form is good news for Malawi.
“A Gabadinho who has rediscovered his scoring boots will be very helpful to the Flames during World Cup matches next month. If he translates the club performance to the national team, we will surely have an upper hand in our match against Sao Tome. We will also need Gaba in top form as we face Equatorial Guinea away on June 10. If Gaba can keep scoring at club level, it means Malawi’s chances of doing well in the World Cup qualifiers are high.
“The goals he is scoring are a clear indication that his confidence in front of goal is back. Gaba is a top player and, for sure, he has shown his capabilities on the pitch. It is not easy to keep scoring in each and every game. This means he is back in good form and is definitely the man we would want to lead our frontline in June,” Msuku said.
Mhango and his Swallows side now sit 12th in the league.
