Opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has said God will give the party victory in the September 16 2025 Local Government, Parliamentary and Presidential Elections.
DPP vice president for the Central Region, Alfred Gangata, said this on Sunday at Unicef Ground, Chinsapo, in Lilongwe.
Gangata said Malawians were suffering, such that their cries had received a divine response.
Gangata said President Lazarus Chakwera would get out of power whether he liked it or not.
“We are taking over the reins of power next year with the support of God,” Gangata said.

He told the gathering that DPP decided to go for former president Peter Mutharika to be its torchbearer in next year’s elections because he was the only person who was experienced enough to run the country.
Speaking earlier, DPP director of youth Norman Chisale said Mutharika would give Malawians all they needed once voted into power next year.
Chisale then urged Malawians to go and register in their large numbers so that they could cast their votes next year.
In his remarks, DPP director of political affairs Ben Phiri told the gathering that when DPP was moving out of government on June 23 2020, inflation was at 8 percent.
