The Ministry of Irrigation and Water Development is worried over low returns on investment in irrigation.
Under the national irrigation investment masterplan, the government, with support from development partners, is developing 220, 000 hectares of irrigable land by 2035. And in the current financial year, K99 billion was allocated for the cause.
