SANGIE—Let us make 2026 unforgettable
SHARE

We are finally in the New Year having exited from 2025 and some creatives on Wednesday wished people a prosperous 2026.

Great Angels Music Director Ephraim Zonda on Wednesday hailed people for supporting them in 2025 and called upon them to continue in 2026.

“We are where we are because of their support and so, we had a good 2025 because of them. 2026, we will be releasing Wakewake album, we call for their support,” Zonda said.

The group celebrates New Year and 20th anniversary today at Robin’s Park in Blantyre where they are set to share the stage with other acts such as reggae group Black Missionaries.

Poetry Association of Malawi (Pam) President Robert Chiwamba also wished poetry lovers a prosperous 2026. “Let them continue supporting poetry, we did not do enough in 2025 but we promise to keep them entertained in 2026,” Chiwamba said.

Sangie famed for the track ‘Mayi Wangwiro’, wished people nothing but love, joy and blessings in the New Year.

“Thank you for rocking with me in 2025. Do stay safe and let us make 2026 unforgettable and most importantly, spread love and choose kindness always,” Sangie, who is also an actor for Usauver drama series, said.

Kenya based veteran gospel musician Chrissie Kamthunzi also wished everyone a Happy, blessed and successful New Year 2026.

“Be encouraged by Isaiah 41:10 that God’s presence is with you do not fear. God is promising us strength and help and that he will up you with His righteous right hand. I thank all my supporters and fans of my music for your support. I love you all and God bless you,” she said.

Piksy popularly known as Angozo and Chimfana Chodziwika ndi Boma, hailed people for support in 2025.

“Let us celebrate the New Year in peace and let us avoid drink and drive to avoid accidents. Wishing all people a Happy and prosperous New Year. There is more in store in terms of music in 2026,” the artist, who recently released a single title ‘Chizungu’, said.

As we went to press on Wednesday, people had started partying with fireworks while churches engaged in Cross Over services to thank the Lord for taking them to 2026.
