High Court Judge Violet Chipao has ordered the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to furnish reasons for the discontinuance of a high-profile criminal case to the Legal Affairs Committee of the National Assembly within 10 days from February 11, 2026.
The order follows the DPP’s decision to discontinue criminal proceedings against Jean Mathanga, John Kandulu, Fanuel Nkhono, and Emilius Kandapo in a matter that was before the High Court of Malawi Financial Crimes Division.
