Japanese Ambassador to Malawi Yoichi Oya has pledged his government’s continued support to Malawi.
He said this in Zomba Thursday, when the Japanese government handed over an ambulance to Police Hospital at Zomba Police College.
“We are supporting Malawi in health, medical, education sectors and every direction. This is important. We are happy today because we have also donated an ambulance,” he said.
Oya said they hoped that the ambulance would ease transport problems.
On her part, commissioner of police Violet Magwaya, who represented Malawi Police Service Inspector General Merlyn Yolamu, said the ambulance would come handy not only to police officers but other service seekers as well,

“These include people from surrounding villages. We are, therefore, grateful for this,” Magwaya said.
