Rookies Creck Sporting Club have a daunting task when they face giants Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in their first away match in top flight football at Kamuzu Stadium this afternoon.
Creck have started their top flight football campaign on a high after beating Mighty Tigers 3-1 and Moyale Barrack 3-2 in their opening two matches.
But this afternoon’s match could be their biggest test as Wanderers, coming from their 3-0 victory over rookies Fomo FC last weekend, would be looking to make a statement in their search for their first TNM Super League title since 2017.
On paper, there is a big gulf in terms of class between the two teams as Wanderers have talent in abundance compared a Creck who have assembled a squad comprising the majority of rejected stones but in football anything can happen.
Wanderers and Creck have a chance to go top of the 16-member log table as leaders Silver Strikers are in action tomorrow against Dedza Dynamos at Dedza Stadium, just like third placed Mzuzu City Hammers, who have a tricky fixture against Mighty Tigers at Kamuzu Stadium tomorrow.

Creck coach Macdonald Mtetemera said his troops are ready to cause another upset.
“It will be a good game and we will get maximum points. We came earlier to make sure that the players get used to playing on artificial turf,” Mtetemera said.
Elsewhere, Kamuzu Barracks will be looking for their first win of the season when they host Fomo at Civo Stadium this afternoon.
