By Peter Fote in Windhoek, Namibia:
Malawi Under-19 National Netball Team Coach Jane Chimaliro is confident that her charges can claim gold or silver medals at the ongoing African Union Sports Council (Ausc) Region 5 Games in Windhoek, Namibia.
Tuesday the side lost to defending champions South Africa 48-29.
However, the junior Queens secured their semifinals slot on Monday when they narrowly defeated Zambia 48-46.
Chimaliro said much as she did not want to heap the players with a lot of pressure but it was possible to finish among the top two teams.

“We have a good squad which is hungry for success. We are taking each game as it comes. The good thing is that the squad is able to cope with pressure as we saw against Zambia.
“It was a tough game but I congratulate them because they put up a gallant fight and produced a five star performance in the last quarter to produce that magical win,” Chimaliro, whose charges beat Eswatini in the opening match, said.
In the semifinals, the junior Queens will likely face a second-placed side in group B comprising Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana.
