This seems to be the impression one gets upon coming across Kondwani Monjeza’s latest offering to the literary world; that is, a book titled Mastering Business Research: A Practical Guide to Scholars And Practitioners.
The cover page is adorned in the four colours, welcoming one into the world of business research the book focuses on.
This is Monjeza’s debut foray in the world of authorship.

The author is a business professional and academician who is pursuing dual MBA degrees—MBA in International Business and MBA in Information Technology Management in India.

Monjeza holds a BBA in Management and a Certificate in Computing and Information Systems.
The Mastering Business Research: A Practical Guide to Scholars and Practitioners creator seems to have started harboring the idea to author a book while he was studying for his bachelor’s degree with a specialization in management at the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton through Malawi Adventist University campus.
He believes that he is “well-equipped to share valuable insights and knowledge in the field of business research”.
Monjeza adds: “Throughout the book, I draw upon my experiences as a researcher and the wisdom shared by colleagues and scholars. The content reflects the current landscape of business research methods and aims to be comprehensive yet accessible.”

Indeed, in the book, Monjeza taps from his five years of experience as a research and business consultant to offer insights into business research, which, according to him, targets researchers, professionals and students that are in the field of business.
In the 152-page book, each chapter incorporates practical examples, case studies and exercises.
It has 12 chapters, with the first chapter introducing the fundamentals of research and how it casts its long shadow on business.
Maybe, because the book is about research, it is important to define it [research] through the prism of Monjeza’s understanding.
“Research is a multifaceted term that encompasses a wide range of activities and approaches. Its meaning and definition can vary depending on the context and the field in which it is applied.
“However, at its core, research involves a systematic and structured process of inquiry aimed at generating new knowledge, deepening understanding and solving problems,” the book indicates.
In the second chapter, the book focuses on the research problem, with the following chapter shedding light into how one can go about coming up with a comprehensive literature review.
Issues such as research design come handy in the fourth chapter, with the next chapter delving deep into such issues as data collection methods.
Other chapters deal with data analysis, ethical considerations and guidelines on ensuring that research plans materialise.
Those interested in learning about advanced topics in business research, as well as those that are being bothered about issues such as the best way of disseminating research findings and offering insights into areas that can be further expounded will find material relevant to that in the book.
