Lake of Stars (LoS) Festival has begun its 2024 walk to September 6 to 8 feast at Fish Eagle Bay in Nkhotakota by announcing local headliners who include Amapiano stars Zeze Kingston and Temwah.
Dubbed ‘Lake of Stars Reactivated’, the festival has resurfaced in what the organisers have said grand style, marking its 20th anniversary as well as celebrating 60 years of Malawi’s independence.
The festival was expected to make a comeback last year but it was postponed.
In a press statement, the festival says it is excited to unveil Amapiano King—Zeze Kingston and Malawi’s Sweetheart Temwah alongside Akometsi Princess – Emmie Deebo and multi-talented founder of Tiwale, DJ Chmba.
“These will be taking the main stage this year as Malawi’s very own, headliners,” the statement reads.

LoS says this is the first lot and that people should watch the space for other acts.
Known for their award-winning dynamic performances and strong local roots, LoS further says that Zeze Kingston, Temwah, Emmie Deebo and DJ Chmba promise to deliver an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
“Yes, Lake of Stars Malawi Arts Festival’s local headliners come in multiples this year! We could not help it— Malawi has outstanding talent to share with the world, and we just cannot keep calm. And this is only the beginning,” LoS Talent Master Rolyn Makhole said.
Meanwhile LoS says it has extended early bird ticket sales deadline due to what it has described as popular demand.

It says that the extension, until June 15 2024, gives more fans the opportunity to be part of the event.
LoS has in the past years contributed immensely to the advancement of arts and culture as well tourism in the country.
LoS Head of Media, Public Relations and Relationships, Zilanie Gondwe, said “surprises are plenty this year”.
People should just save the date for now,” Gondwe said of the festival, which was birthed at Chintheche Inn in Nkhata Bay and founded by Will Jameson in 2004.
Some of the artists that have performed at the festival include South Africa’s Freshlyground, Zimbabwe’s Oliver Mtukudzi and Mookomba and Kenya’s Sauti Sol.
