Malawi football legends, through JK Productions, have raised K2.5 million for the match against their Zambian counterparts.
The encounter is slated for David Kaunda Stadium in Zambia’s Eastern city of Chipata on Saturday.
The money will cater for some logistics during the road trip to the neighbouring country.
FISD Company Limited set the pace with a K1 million donation on Tuesday.
One of the company’s directors, Frank Mwenechanya, said they are proud to be associated with Malawi’s football legends.

“This is a direct response to the request from the legends. They asked for our support and we felt it right and proper to come in and assist. We believe this donation will help them cover some areas of need as they travel to Zambia,” Mwenechanya said.
Eco Tek Investments also donated K1 million to the group.
Speaking after presenting a dummy cheque to the retired footballers, Eco Tek Managing Director Muhammad Patel said the donation is one way of giving back to the community.
“We are a Malawian company and want to assist our legends. They dedicated their lives to representing Malawi during their playing days; so, we need to say thank you by giving them this kind of support,” Patel said.

The group’s vice chairperson and team manager Justin Saidi thanked the companies for their support.
“We are happy with the overwhelming response from the corporate world. Our appeal to other companies, organisations and individuals is that they should emulate Eco Tek’s kind gesture,” Saidi said.
The legends are expected to leave for Zambia tomorrow through Mchinji border.
Football Association of Zambia will provide accommodation and meals for 30 members of the team for two days.
