Mabeya’s Pub and Grill in Lilongwe, driven by former broadcaster Gift Mabeya Mbeya, on Saturday gave fun lovers all-round entertainment as it celebrated its one year on Sunday.
Apart from treating revellers to music served by singer and guitarist Lawi and The Mango Band, Mabeya’s Pub and Grill conducted a raffle draw that saw lucky winners walking away with branded t-shirts, jerseys and bags.
It was an outing that Mabeya’s Pub and Grill scripted well, another special moment being the cutting of a cake.
The Chitipi-based entertainment hub has since promised people more performances in its quest to develop the creative industry.

It was a cold night but people came out in large numbers as they enjoyed vibes served by a DJ before Lawi took over later.
“We would like to thank people for turning up for the anniversary. Their presence has made this anniversary a success and for us, there is more to come in terms of entertainment,” Mabeya Mbeya said.
He said his love for art is what prompted him to open the pub and grill.
“We, as people, go through a lot and, so, we need to shake off stress at times and this is the place to be and unwind,” he said.

Lawi, as the headliner of the anniversary, made sure he did not disappoint when he served a number of songs from his collections including Sunset in the Sky.
Lawi, who kept people on the dance floor, said he was excited to perform at the anniversary of Mabeya’s Pub and Grill.
“I have enjoyed every moment and I would like to congratulate Mabeya’s Pub and Grill for the one year anniversary,” the ‘Amaona Kuchedwa’ star said.
He hailed Mabeya Mbeya, saying he has been there for the creative industry and that he has promoted Malawi music for years as former broadcaster at MBC Radio 2 FM.
One of the fans who patronised the event, Mercy Chipwaila, said Mabeya’s Pub and Grill is a good place as far as entertainment is concerned.
“What Mabeya’s Pub and Grill has done today in celebrating their anniversary shows that they value their customers. I have enjoyed activities at the event,” Chipwaila said.
