Malawi Beach Soccer National Team Coach Willy Kumilambe has called for international exposure after his charges suffered their third successive loss at the on-going 2024 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt.
Kumilambe’s troops lost to Mauritania 11-6 at Hurghada Beach Soccer Arena Tuesday.
Malawi also lost to Senegal on Monday 6-1 and Mozambique 4-3 on Tuesday.
The side will now be involved in a placing match to determine their rank at the event.
However, Kumilambe said despite an improved performance from his charges, he felt that his charges would have done better.

“We gave away silly goals because they were able to see our blind spots. Technically that is where we lost the game. Our group was the toughest. It was not an easy group.
“Practice makes perfect. We cheat ourselves when we train by ourselves. We need to play international friendly games to assess our performance,” Kumilambe said.
At the end of the first period, Malawi were leading 3-2 before Mauritania led 7-4 at the end of the second period. The third period was tight and dramatic but Mauritania stood firm to win the match.
During the match, Malawi’s Sandram Sadi Usi scored four goals while Isaac Kajamu scored two goals.
