The Malawi National Netball Team will go into camp next Monday in Blantyre in preparation for next month’s Quad Series in Nottingham, the United Kingdom (UK).
The tournament, which will involve hosts England, Malawi, South Africa and Uganda, is scheduled for February 3 to 7 2025.
Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) General Secretary Yamikani Khungwa- Kauma said the team would be training at Blantyre Youth Centre ahead of the tournament.
“All things being equal, the team will depart for the UK on January 28. We believe the team will have ample time to prepare for the tournament,” Kauma said.
The tournament comes one month after the team finished fourth at the Africa Netball Cup in Swakopmund, Namibia, last month.

Malawi lost 48-42 to Zimbabwe, who claimed silver.
Meanwhile, co-coaches Peace Chawinga-Kalua and Marry Waya have announced a provisional squad ahead of the tournament.
The squad comprises Leeds Rhinos shooter Joyce Mvula, Kukoma Diamonds defender Towera Vinkhumbo, Blue Eagles star Takondwa Lwazi and Lionesses star Thandie Galeta.

Waya and Chawinga-Kalua have also included Martha Dambo, Beatrice Kumwenda, Tendai Masamba and Grace Mwafulirwa.

Conspicuously missing in the squad is Australia-based shooter Mwawi Kumwenda.
Kumwenda has just joined West Coast Fever.
Three players—namely Lusako Mhango, Florence Gamuka and Cynthia Khunga— have also been excluded.
The trio was part of the Africa Netball Cup.
Waya said the changes were premised on injecting fresh talent into the team.
“We also want to address weaknesses that were there. We are working on refining our strategy while optimising team performance to ensure a more cohesive and effective performance on the court,’’ Waya said.
Below is the full squad:
Defenders: Vinkhumbo, Aisha Gama, Shabel Bengo, Fanada Saidi, Thoko Makunganya, Dambo, Mwafulirwa, Chifuniro Moses and Mphatso Kanyimbo.
Mid court: Lwazi, Galeta, Flora Chipeta, Kumwenda, Alice Mvula.
