Barely a day after Public Affairs Committee Chairperson Monsignor Patrick Thawale urged presidential candidates in the September 16, 2025 elections to take part in debates, governing Malawi Congress Party (MCP) presidential candidate Lazarus Chakwera and his Democratic Progressive Party counterpart Peter Mutharika did not turn up for the second, and last, presidential debate at Bingu wa Mutharika International Convention Centre in Lilongwe last evening.
