Defender Miracle Gabeya has completed a year-long move to top Mozambican side União Desportiva do Songo, commonly known as UD Songo following his release from Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.
Gabeya, speaking from Johannesburg, South Africa where Songo is camping for preseason training, said he was happy to secure a club after being released by Wanderers last week.
“This is the greatest moment of my football career. I will be with this club for a season.
This tells me to work hard so that the club can extend my stay.
It is a new experience meeting with various players and hopefully I will enjoy my game time here,” Gabeya, the on and off Malawi National Football Team defender, said.

However, Gabeya was confident that Songo would help him gain more experience.
Gabeya has reunited with former Wanderers coach Mark Harrison, who resigned at the end of last season.
The former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets centre back will be playing with Flames captain John CJ Banda who joined Songo in 2019
On his part, CJ Banda welcomed his compatriot at the club and expressed hope Gabeya would help the club challenge for honours after a trophy-less campaign last season.

“We are sharing ideas on how we can improve our style of play and I am sure that he will not experience many difficulties as has been playing for big teams in Malawi. He will definitely add value to the club,” Banda said.
