Four artists, who are called ‘movers’ in the Musicians and Organisers Volunteer Exchange (Move) Programme, have left Malawi for Brazil and Norway.
The programme is spearheaded by Music Crossroads Malawi.
The four, who are part of the 10th cohort, are Brenda Focus Phiri and Vitumbiko Chisi (Norway) and Patrick Gwetse and Chisomo Godwell Bandah (Brazil).
Music Crossroads Malawi Director Mathews Mfune said Monday that they were excited to send to another crop of artists on an exchange programme.
“This is an important programme, one that offers our young artists a chance to showcase works from Malawi and, at the same time, learn from other artists,” Mfune said.

He said over 50 Malawian young musicians have, so far, benefitted from the exchange programme since 2016.
During the exchange programme, the artists are also engaged in performances, including learning elements such as stage management.
With the four Malawian artists going to Norway and Brazil, Music Crossroads Malawi will also be welcoming participants from Brazil and Norway to Malawi.
