All is set for a day-long in-house tournament that Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu (MMM) and Ebenezer Investments will host at Lilongwe Golf Club Saturday.
MMM Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba, whose organisation uses sport, especially football, as a tool for social change, said the tournament is one way of providing a platform for both the soccer school and academy sides to showcase what they have been learning in the last 10 months.
“We are talking about football development and other life skills. The tournament is one of the deliverables for the MMM-Ebenezer Investment partnerships. Participants in the tournament will be the 150 MMM kids and 25 MMM women’s social football players.
“Participants will be divided into teams and they will compete in small-sided games as well as skill and technique demonstration competitions. This year’s tournament is an improved version of the last three tournaments,” Chimimba said.
He then encouraged parents to grace the games and network with sponsors and fellow MMM parents.

“We have arranged prizes, medals and miniatures to excite the young ones. The coaches and the kids are all excited and cannot wait for this time to come. The tournament will also provide a platform for people to know more about MMM, their partners and what different MMM partners do,” Chimimba said.
Ebenezer Investment Managing Director Jane Mfune said she is excited that the tournament will take place few weeks after her company become MMM’s platinum sponsor.
“We are looking forward to meeting the different kids who are talented. You may wish to know that MMM is supporting their education as well. We, at Ebenezer, believe in service beyond self and we always share the little that God blesses us with as part of our corporate social responsibility.
“We are pleased that MMM is doing all that on our behalf. We are therefore very proud of our partnership. Our appeal to stakeholders is that they should all come to support the lads,” Mfune said.
