What was meant to ease mobility challenges has instead exposed many Malawians operating motorcycle taxis, popularly known as kabaza, to theft and deadly attacks.
The business, which gained popularity about 14 years ago, has led to the importation of thousands of motorcycles into the country.
Lilongwe is among the districts most affected by attacks on Kabaza operators.
