Finance Minister Joseph Mwanamvekha has projected that maize prices will fall sharply to below K20,000 per 50-kilogramme (kg) bag by August this year.
Malawi’s Chancellor of the Exchequer made the remarks in Phalombe District on Saturday.
He was speaking at a political rally which Phalombe North Member of Parliament Feston Chauma organised.
