Liberty Immigration Services on Friday donated K2 million towards the 2024 Muslim Arts Awards (MAA) to be held on December 20.
The firm’s representative Idriss Ali Nassah emphasised the power of collaboration in nurturing the creative arts industry in the country during the handover, which was held at Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre on Friday.
Nassah highlighted the plight of many Muslim youths, whose talents remain untapped due to lack of support, saying empowering these artists would help to unlock their economic potential and bring their creative visions to life.
“We attended last year’s awards and noticed that there are so many talented Muslim youths in the country but they lack support. This donation shows our commitment to uplift the talents,” he said.
Muslim Arts Awards patron Judge Jabbar Alide hailed Liberty Immigration Services for what he described as a timely donation.

Alide said the donation would significantly enhance the preparations for this year’s event and provide a platform for Muslim artists to showcase their talents.
“This donation is huge. We will use it well to bring out the best during the awards ceremony,” he said, calling upon other organisations to emulate this gesture.
MAA Chairperson Tailosi Bakili said the awards initiative has not only empowered and motivated artists, but it has also promoted creative works beyond the Muslim community since its inception.
“We are happy that other artists are now being engaged as brand ambassadors by different organisations,” Bakili said.
