Ascent Soccer Academy has disclosed that midfielder Mwisho Mhango has not signed a contract with any European team
This is contrary to reports that Mhango, 17, had signed a contract with one of the German teams.
In a statement released Sunday, Ascent Director Thom Mkolongo insisted that Mhango was still an Ascent player despite reports linking him with an overseas move.

“Over the past 18 months, Mhango has been fortunate enough to attend training placements at a number of teams across Europe.

“As of now, Mwisho remains an Ascent player and, contrary to these reports, Mwisho has not signed or agreed a deal with any club, nor has Ascent,” the statement reads.
According to Fifa Transfer rules, all non-EU-players [non-European Union players] below the age of 18 cannot agree to, or sign, any professional deal in Europe.
The youngster scored a brace as the Malawi Under-20 National Football Team beat Zimbabwe 2-1 at the ongoing African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Games in Windhoek, Namibia.
After scoring twice, Mhango said his focus was on helping the team conquer the trophy.

He also paid tribute to his teammates for supporting him to make an impact.
“On my own, I could not have achieved this but teammates played a crucial role to help me score. The win is not about an individual but the team as a whole,” Mhango, who was named player of the match, said.
