Musician Onesimus, who is currently enjoying the limelight with his ‘Controller’ track, said on Wednesday that the single just happened as he did not plan for it.
The artist has gained mileage with the romantic song that he will release on Spotify on Thursday.
“It feels great for me where people got to love the song before it even came out. I feel honoured by my fellow country men and women to support me on this beautiful song ‘Controller’,” the artist, who last weekend had performances in Lilongwe and Blantyre, said.
The artist shared the stage with Patience Namadingo in Lilongwe in a Clash of Titans Episode 2 at Epic Lounge in Lilongwe and also starred as a surprise act at Praise Umali’s Before April concert at Sunbird Mount Soche in Blantyre.
“The journey of ‘Controller’ began when I shared a clip of myself and producer J-Mass vibing in the studio to the unfinished demo of the song. Fans quickly embraced the snippet and the track went viral on TikTok prompting me to expedite its completion to meet the overwhelming demand from fans,” Onesimus better known as African Butter, said.

The track comes barely two months after he released his Extended Playlist titled I Am Strong.
Combining afro-beat and dancehall influences, Onesimus describes ‘Controller’ as a vibrant and infectious track that has already started captivating audiences worldwide.
“It is all about love, ‘Controller’ is a song that is just inspired by love and when a person is deeply in love, you get controlled at some point,” he said.
The song delves into the theme of love and infatuation, portraying the overwhelming sensation of being under someone’s control.

The ‘Mr Nobody’ star boasted that the official visualizer for the song released on his YouTube channel on April 1 2024 amassed over 100k views within the first day.
