Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) Technical Director Samuel Kanyenda has been maintained as stand-in coach for the Malawi National Netball Team.
The development comes as the senior side started its final camping in Lilongwe over the weekend ahead of the 2023 Netball World Cup slated for Cape Town, South Africa, from July 28 to August 6.
Nam General Secretary Isaac Chimwala said they will not make any changes to the coaching panel, which is being headed by Kanyenda.
“Kanyenda is still supervising the squad as at now. The team will be in camp until their departure for South Africa on July 21,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kanyenda has said the Queens were having three training sessions instead of two to make up for the lost time after the camp delayed by a week.

“We will be able to finalise everything this way,” he said.
Meanwhile, New Zealand-based shooter Joyce Mvula (Central Pulse) and Towera Vinkhumbo-Nyirenda of Strathclyde Sirens are in camp while Caroline Mtukule- Ngwira (Team Bath) is expected in camp soon.
Nam recently disclosed that Australia-based shooter Mwawi Kumwenda-Mbwana will join the squad in South Africa due to club commitments at Melbourne Vixens.
Last week, Nam breathed a sigh of relief after sponsors, FDH Bank plc released K94 million to cater for the team’s preparations.
