A team of investors from India is in the country ahead of seven-day investment avenues exploration and consequent deliberations with government and private sector players.
The first of such meetings occurred on Wednesday in Blantyre hosted by Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC).
NBS Bank has since donated K3.1 million towards the meeting.
NBS Bank Deputy Chief Executive Officer Temwani Simwaka said the support is the bank’s contribution towards growth of the economy.
“We exist to make banking easy. Therefore, we are more than just observers of growth; we are enablers of growth, dedicated to making cross-border business as straightforward as possible,” Simwaka said.

MITC Chief Executive Officer Paul Kwengwere thanked the bank for the support.
Malawi’s High Commissioner to India Leonard Mengezi commended MITC for organising the forum.
“There are ample opportunities awaiting exploration in Malawi, and I encourage our Indian counterparts to venture into these promising sectors,” Mengezi said.
