The Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) last week elected Ronald Ngwira as president.
Ngwira, who is the Managing Director of Illovo Sugar Malawi, will be deputised by Reunion Insurance Chief Executive Officer Dorothy Chapeyama.
In his acceptance speech, Ngwira described rated his voting as collective affirmation of a shared vision to build a more resilient and inclusive private sector.
“Together, we will continue to build on the foundations laid by those who came before us, ensuring that the MCCCI remains a beacon and strong voice for private sector lobbying, advocacy, and collaboration,” Ngwira said.
He paid tribute to the outgoing council, acknowledging their resilience in navigating production shocks and shifting political dynamics.
