Mighty Wanderers have reinstated Tiya Somba Banda to the club’s board of directors, nine months after he resigned.
Somba Banda resigned in July last year to focus on his role as Confederation of Africa Football (Caf) general coordinator.
Wanderers board secretary Chancy Gondwe said Somba Banda was recalled following approval from the club’s president and sponsor Thomson Mpinganjira.
Gondwe said Somba Banda will oversee the football development and commercialisation committee.
“We are optimistic that his return will bring more experience to the team and the way we run the club. We want to put more effort into the club as we prepare for the new season,” he said.

His return comes a few days after the club parted ways with Chief Executive Officer Panganeni Ndovi following the expiry of his two-year contract.
The Nomads are yet to appoint a replacement. Gondwe assured fans that the process will be thorough and a new appointment will be announced in the coming weeks.
Somba Banda thanked the club’s president for considering his return.
“The club holds a special place in my heart and I will work hard to defend the league title. I am proud to contribute to its growth, governance and long-term vision,” he said.
