Mighty Wanderers have already started planning for the return match of their Caf Confederation Cup preliminary round campaign against Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy.
After winning the first leg 1-0 at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday, Wanderers are scheduled to face Galaxy in the second leg on September 27.
Captain Felix Zulu netted the lone strike with 10 minutes remaining on the clock to give the hosts an advantage ahead of the return match, where they just need a draw to go through.
Wanderers Coach Bob Mpinganjira said they just need a good game plan in the away match to book their ticket to the next round.
Mpinganjira said while scoring two goals would have made them more comfortable, he believes his charges did their best under the circumstances.

“It is a game of football. Such things happen. We just have to have a good gameplan in Botswana, perhaps getting another goal. For now, let us commend the boys for the gallant fight,” he told his club’s Facebook page.
Mpinganjira hailed players for holding on to the slender lead up to the end of the match.
He said the players might have wasted several scoring opportunities but that he was impressed with their approach.
“I must commend my boys for working very hard. Yes, we missed opportunities but the performance was great, considering the fact that our opponents are a good side, with recent experience on the continental stage,” Wanderers’ Facebook page quotes Mpinganjira as saying.

The team is expected to return home on Sunday.
