Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma has said time when corruption was the order of the day is over.
Chizuma was speaking in Lilongwe on Tuesday during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Malawi School of Government and the Office of the Ombudsman.
She said she will now be working based on policy informed research and partnerships.
According to Chizuma, inter-agency collaboration is key to dealing with corruption.

“We believe that, through our collaboration, we will be working on a well-guided policy based on the research that will be conducted by MSG.
Corruption has its way of fighting back and that is why we have put in place another gear to deal with the vice,” Chizuma said.
She said the ACB believes that there is a need for joint efforts if the country is to root out corruption and mal-administration.
Ombudsman Grace Malera said it is their duty to see to it that public office bearers are operating within ethical values.

She said, in 2019, the Office of the Ombudsman was appointed to champion the adherence to ethical values among public officers.
“It is within our mandate to help in [shaping] the ethical values of public officers. We will make sure that we improve ethical governance and integrity in the public and private sectors,” Malera said.
Malawi School of Government Director General Asiyati Chiweza said the ACB can depend on the institution when it comes to research and training.
She said the institution will provide all the needed research and training to curb cases of corruption, which she said retards socio-economic development.
“Through our work, we are sure that our presence in this partnership will help in the fight against corruption. Sometimes, what people need is training on the subject,” Chiweza said.
