Under the Nigerian star Tiwa Savage’s sky, corporate and creative sectors have assured female creatives of unwavering support in the country.
In what can be described as powering the passion, the players promised maximum backing on Wednesday when women creatives interacted with Nigerian musician Tiwa Savage at Sunbird Capital in Lilongwe.
Tiwa Savage has been engaged in different undertakings in the country as a global champion for United Nations Joint Spotlight Initiative.

Copyright Fund Committee Chairperson Robert Kapyepye said the Spotlight Initiative was a deliberate effort to celebrate female creatives, describing it as “game changers” in the economy.

“We want to change the culture by being deliberate and intentional to ensure women benefit from their trade,” Kapyepye said.
He said Copyright Fund is determined to promote women in the arts, observing that only one female artist is among the top 20 royalty earners in the country.
During the session hosted by Sophie Mponda, Tiwa Savage, who is also an actress, led a panel with musician Temwah and others.
As part of supporting creatives, she announced she will collaborate on a song with Temwah.

“Temwah is talented and we will produce a good track together. More collaborations are on the way,” She said.
Temwah said she was excited to have a conversation with the Nigerian star.
NBS Bank Chief Executive Officer Temwani Simwaka said the bank was committed to supporting artists, especially women, noting the creative industry has potential to contribute to the economy.
“We realised the creative industry can grow in Malawi, so we decided to set the ball rolling. We are committed to support artists, and the industry has a chance to bring foreign exchange into the country,” Simwaka said.
UNDP Malawi resident representative Fenella Frost said the organisation would continue supporting the sector, particularly women.
“We will continue to stand with female creatives and help strengthen the industry,” Frost said.
The session, organised by Copyright Fund, UNDP, NBS Bank and Cosoma, centred on collaboration against gender based violence in the creative industry, among other things
