Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Coach Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan has included six semi-senior players in his squad for the 2024 season.
The semi-seniors are Adam Walesi, Chifuniro Kamenya, Mayamiko Makasu, Chembezi Chihoma, Samson Banda and Afana following their outstanding performance with the main team in preseason matches.
Ramadhan said the six would develop steadily and quickly if they are involved with both the main and reserve teams.
“The semi-senior role gives them a chance to play for both sides. It is good for their development as they will be playing week in, week out,” Ramadhan said.
Ironically, the Wanderers Board recommended the promotion of some reserve players after the side won two regional trophies.

Wanderers Reserve Coach Bob Mpinganjira backed the six to flourish at both levels.
“Previously, this is what used to happen at Wanderers. This is how most outstanding players, including myself, were identified and nurtured at Wanderers,” Mpinganjira said.
Meanwhile, Ramadhan has described the team’s camping in Mponela, Dowa District, as special.
“We cannot say that we are ready for the new season because, in football, we keep on learning things and tactics. At the moment, we are working on combinations.

“However, I am happy with how our preparations went in Mponela. It is good that the board gave us this support,” Ramadhan said.
