Musicians Piksy and Zeze Kingston on Saturday were the toast of the moment when they gave people a treat during the Food Festival organised by Central High International School in Blantyre.
On a cold Saturday, the two artists alongside saxophonist Chigo Nyasulu, Zax D and talents from the school, displayed a music package that offered proper warmth to the audience.
With a number of assignments on his bowl on the day, Zeze, who is among artists of the moment famed for songs such as ‘Chule’ and ‘Alamu Anu’, was the first to hit the stage and jumped on stage after some up-and-coming talents’ performances.
The artist thrilled the audience before taking pictures with the fans.
“This is my first time to perform here but it’s been exciting and I have enjoyed every moment,” he said before leaving for Lilongwe for other shows.

Nyau King Tay Grin, who is basking in the glory of his ‘Tcha’ music video that has won him kudos from people, was also present at the festival but did not perform.
Chigo, a former Lusubilo Band member and current member of Mibawa Band, was next and he continued from where Zeze Kingston had left off.
His act, although short, was different and backed by a team that included percussionist Anthony Supriano, and dished out a blend of jazz and Tumbongonde sounds from Karonga and Chitipa from the Northern Region.
A few people embraced his sound with many enjoying food in the pavilions before he left the stage for talents from the school and later a DJ setup.

It was, however, the performance of Piksy that brought the audience closer to the stage as they sang along to almost all of his songs including ‘Anana’ which was his signing off tune.
Central High International School Head of Arts Department and Events Prudence Dziopani said they were happy that the event, hosted by Nicole Kamwendo, had run on successfully.
“All the artists who were billed to perform made it and people enjoyed the different foods. This event was one way of closing this academic year with a bang as well as raising funds for our activities,” Dziopani said.
Meanwhile, the school will from July 3 to 28 hold what it dubs Exploria 1.0. The Winter Camp at its campus is targeting children from the ages of seven to 14.
