Limbe Police Station spokesperson Stanley Singanyama said investigations were underway.
“I cannot say much on what transpired because investigations have just commenced but we have intensified efforts to arrest the culprits,” he said.
A police report to the Police South West Region indicates that Bobe, 33, was shot dead from close range.
It is reported that the doctor’s deceased’s husband Yamikani Bobe heard a strange sound from outside the house and that, when he checked through the window, he saw some people moving around.

“He shouted for help but, [by] this time, criminals had already broken in and entered the house. The criminals demanded money from the reporter [husband] but he had no money. They attacked the deceased and shot her in the head and she died on the spot,” the report reads.
It further indicates that the unknown people went away with a laptop and two empty bags.
“Police were informed [about the issue] and visited the scene of [the] crime and found that the criminals drilled a hole on the brick fence wall to gain entry into the compound. They attacked a private security guard who was on duty during the night. Later, criminals broke the main door using metal bars and entered the bedroom, where they confronted both the reporter and the deceased,” the report reads.
Meanwhile, many people took to social media to express their shock over the death and paid tribute to the departed.
Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital director Kelvin Mponda said he was saddened with the death of Bobe, who he described as hardworking and mentor to upcoming doctors.
She came from Magombo Village, Traditional Authority Mkaya, in Balaka District.
