Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Coach Bob Mpinganjira has lauded the team’s new signing Promise Kamwendo, saying the forward offers the side attacking options.
Wednesday, Kamwendo joined Wanderers on a three-year deal as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Dedza Dynamos.
Mpinganjira said Kamwendo would help the team to attack differently and in line with the game plan.
“It is very important to beef up the striking force because we were lacking in this department. We only had three natural strikers.
“The advantage is that we assessed him when he came last season. We were still monitoring him and, so, we knew that he would bring in some difference when he comes to the side,” Mpinganjira said.

Kamwendo said he was thrilled to have finally completed his move to the Lali Lubani Road side.
“I am happy to have finally joined Wanderers. I wanted to join Wanderers because it is the team I wanted to join. It is the desire of each player to join his dream team. I have huge plans and I want to prove that this season,” he said.
The forward spent the last three seasons at Dynamos, where he scored 29 goals.
Kamwendo was a subject of a failed transfer to Wanderers during the 2024 mid-season transfer window after FCB Nyasa Big Bullets protested his acquisition to the Football Association of Malawi (Fam).

Bullets alleged that Wanderers hijacked the move as Dynamos had already agreed with the People’s Team on the issue of transfer fee.
Following Bullets’ complaint, the Fam Player Status Committee released a determination that indicated that Kamwendo was still contracted to Dynamos and ordered that he return to his club in September last year.
According to the determination, the committee ordered Dynamos to refund Bullets K3 million and Wanderers K4 million within 14 clear days.
Dynamos were fined K3 million for the transfer mess.
The Fam Player Status Committee also ordered Kamwendo to refund Wanderers K6 million.
