South Africa-based poet David Muyombe has launched his debut poetry anthology titled A Tomorrow Without Me.
The poet launched the anthology under Real Poetry Empire.
The anthology boasts 45 poems featuring other poets from Malawi, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Gambia, Sierra Leone and India.
Muyombe said the book explores how a person views life when they are no longer physically present.

“I am a sole breadwinner looking after my family and siblings. So, one day, I asked myself: ‘What will become of these people if I am not there tomorrow?’” he said.
On his part, Lusungu Milanzie, who has co-edited the book and contributed six poems to it, said he was humbled to be part of the anthology.
“When David approached me to contribute [to the anthology] and edit some poems, I jumped at this chance and was haunted by the question: ‘What will be tomorrow without me?’ I ended up crafting my own piece ‘Tomorrow Without Me’, which is the entry poem in the anthology and I am excited about this,” he said.
Some of the voices in the book include Matilda Phiri, Peter Mnyimbiri, Somdatta Mitra and Madalitso Makunganya.
