The cast of the trending film – School Days dates Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre tomorrow in a Meet and Greet session.
This is the second Meet and Greet session having held the first one at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe recently.
Musician cum-filmmaker Kendall Kamwendo of the Symon and Kendall fame, who is the brains behind School Days alongside Lawrence Nyale and Bester Kauwa, said Thursday that they have kept up with the Meet and Greet sessions because they want to interact with people as well as sponsors.
“We will be screening the film during the Meet and Greet session. This is also a chance for people to interact with the cast. We would love to also extend screening of the film to schools across the country but the biggest challenge is funding,” he said of the event which will also feature music performances.
Kendall, who is also the producer of the romantic film titled Where My Heart Belongs, said they were thankful to people for the support since they released the movie on YouTube.

“We want to maintain our style of telling Malawian stories but we can only do that when people give us all the support. We have potential and we promise to give them more movies,” Kendall said.
School Days rekindle memories of secondary school spells where people used to experience teasing and bullying.
In the movie, a group of naughty students from form four led by the likes of Chaksy played by Kendall and Tumpe Mtaya, who stars Phwedo, tease and bully form one students including brainy Mphatso Machira (Amos Filisa) and Leticia (Yvonne Chanache).
The film has since achieved a great feat by garnering one million views on YouTube in three weeks.

Amaryllis Hotel General Manager Ramy Waheed said they were excited to host the School Days crew as well as the screening of the film.
Meanwhile, Waheed has said the hotel will continue to give the creative sector the platform.
“There is beauty in art, there is a story, there is history in art. It is a language understood and loved by generations,” he said.
He said this year, they will elevate the Onetsa Luso stage to new heights.
“We have many acts that we will host on the platform including poetry, drama, acoustic sounds, magic tricks, dance, deejaying and cultural performances,” Waheed said.
He said the hotel has become popular for premiering movies, shooting videos, podcasts and other activities.
“We want to be the platform where talent is nurtured, supported, seen and showcased to the world. This is how we play our role in promoting the tourism sector in Malawi,” Waheed said.
In another development, musician Onesimus yesterday postponed the listening party of his I am Strong Extended Playlist which was expected to be held at Stakeout Bar at Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre.
In a press statement, the artist says the listening party was postponed because he was taken ill.
The statement further says that the event has now been moved to March 3 2024 and that despite the postponement, the EP will still be released today.
Onesimus has since apologised for the inconvinience.
“All tickets that were purchased for the original date will be honoured for the rescheduled date and refund options will also be available,” he said.
