Still basking in the glory of continuous trends on social media, the School Days film cast has organised a Meet and Greet session to be held on Sunday at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) Main Foyer in Lilongwe.
School Days garnered 250, 000 views within two days after it dropped on YouTube.
Musician-cum filmmaker Kendall Kamwendo of the Symon and Kendall fame, who is the brains behind the movie alongside Lawrence Nyale and Bester Kauwa, said Tuesday that the platform was all about interacting with the people as well as acknowledging their support.
“We have received requests from people asking us for a Meet and Greet after being awe-struck by the film and, so, we felt it was important to do it and connect with the cast,” Kendall, who is also well-known for the romantic film Where My Heart Belongs, said.
The development comes barely five days after the team recently received support from Innobuild, which donated K1 million as well as gave a plot to one of the actors Tumpe Mtaya, who stars as Phwedo.

“This Meet and Greet is part of reaching out to the people to let them know that, with their support, we are ready to give them the best. The biggest challenge we, as filmmakers, are facing is lack of funds. Film needs more investment and it is not cheap,” he said.
Kendall said it was their hope that companies and well-wishers will come forward to support them as they are looking forward to shooting another movie.
During the Meet and Greet event, there will also be screening of the film.
“People have been longing to interact with Phwedo, Chaksy, Leticia, Mphatso and the whole crew; so, this is the time,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kendall has disowned a poster of School Days II that is running on social media.
“It is fake. For now we do not have any plans for part II. We know some people have been advocating for it but we do not have such plans for now,” he said.
