The Smallholder Farmers Fertiliser Revolving Fund of Malawi (SFFRFM) has procured 8.7 million kilogrammes (kg) of tobacco valued at $18.9 million during the 2024-25 selling season, the institution has confirmed. In a response to a questionnaire, SFFRFM spokesperson Grace Thipa said the fund has been an officially licensed tobacco buyer by the Tobacco Commission (TC) since the 2022-23 growing season and that they have, this year, been actively participating in the auction sales market.
