The condition of Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe during our visit Tuesday was markedly different from how it has previously been known, with signs of vandalism and dirt visible in various areas.
The premises, once tidy, were now filled with pervasive filth.
We found rubbish strewn across the grounds, the lawn completely parched and several items in both the main and staff houses vandalised.
