The State House has been paying some workers who have not been reporting for duties as they are challenging transfers to ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), The Daily Times understands.
In 2022, under the Malawi Congress Party administration, State Residences authorities institutional houses, over 100 employees to various MDAs.
However, 98 of them—led by McJoe Kuyenda—went to court, where they obtained an injunction challenging the decision.
The government later vacated the injunction.
