Considering the uncertainty as regards the positions, it is unlikely that the elections will be held on Saturday as the body requires 48 days’ preparations during which it is supposed to set up an election committee followed by nominations to be vetted before the polls take place.
In 2021, Sulom held elections to replace the then vice general secretary Zacharia Nyirenda.
During the polls, Flao Mwale filled the post after defeating Mike Tembo and Escort Chinula.
Similarly, Sulom held elections when Muhammad Seleman, who was then the association’s legal adviser, was elected Fam executive member.
The contest saw Innocent Kadammanja defeating Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda to replace Seleman.
