Malawi women’s football star Tabitha Chawinga has engaged an extra gear in her chase for the golden boot award in the French Feminine League.
The deadly striker scored a brace as Paris Saint Germain defeated Dijon 3-0 on Sunday.
Marie Katoto opened the scoring for PSG in the 13th minute before Tabitha scored her first goal of the match in stoppage time of the first half.
She completed her brace in the 59th minute after she beat Dijon goalkeeper at the near post.
This means Tabitha is five goals clear of her closest challenger, Ada Hegerberg of Olympique Lyonnais, in the golden boot race.

Tabitha’s teammate Grace Geroyo is third after scoring 11 goals.
“A brace in a 3-0 win over Dijon to take my tally to 17,” she wrote on her Facebook page.
Tabitha has already equalled the goal tally she scored in her debut season in China.
However, she is six goals away from equalling last year’s goal tally of 23 when she was on loan at Italian side Inter Milan Women.

The Malawian also has the most assists in the league with 10 this season, one above Clara Mateo and Kadidiatou Diani.
Silver Strikers Women FC coach Andrew Chikhosi praised Tabitha for her exploits in France.
“She has been outstanding since she moved to Europe. Tabitha is a good example of professional players. I am sure the majority of upcoming players will emulate her hardworking spirit,” Chikhosi said.
Tabitha was named player of the month in the French League for the month of February.
With four matches to go, PSG are second on the log table with 48 points from 19 matches, seven points behind defending champions Lyon.
