Malawi Women’s National Football Team striker Tabitha Chawinga scored her first hattrick for Paris Saint-Germain in a 5-2 win over Dijon in French Feminine League on Sunday.
This means Chawinga has scored five goals in the league for PSG but she has six goals in all competitions, having netted a goal in Uefa Women’s Champions League.
The Malawian is just two goals behind the leading goal scorer Eugenie Le Sommer of Olympic Lyonnais Women’s.
Louise Fleury of Paris Women’s FC is second on the top goalscorers’ chart with six goal whereas Gaetane Thiney of Paris Women’s has five goals alongside Chawinga.
She scored her first goal of the match in the 25th minute after getting a good ball from Marie Katoto.

This was after Grace Geroyo opened the scoring for PSG.
Chawinga scored the second goal in the 47th minute after another assist from Katoto.
The hosts pulled one back through Malou Rylov in the 59th minute before Wu Chengshu scored the third goal after 65 minutes.
But Chawinga completed her hat-trick in the 71st minute of the match before Amalie Vangsgaard sealed the victory for PSG two minutes later.

Chawinga was excited with her first hattrick for PSG.
“Hoping for more to come. We are PSG Feminine,” she wrote on her Facebook page.
The Scorchers captain is on a season-long loan from Chinese champions Wuhan Jiangda.
Scorchers coach Lovemore Fazili said Chawinga can win the golden boot award in France.
“I am happy that she is scoring goals for a big club like PSG. This is an opportunity for her to prove that she is a top striker,” Fazili said.
Chawinga has a good record of winning golden boot awards in her first season in three countries namely Sweden, China and Italy.
She scored 23 goals in 21 matches for Inter Milan Women while on loan last season as she won the golden boot award, the first African female to win it in Italy.
In her debut season in Sweden, she scored 38 goals in 35 matches for Krokom/Dvassalts.
In China, she scored 17 goals for Jiang Sunning in 2017 to win the award.
