Malawi Women’s National Football Team striker Temwa Chawinga was on target for Wuhan Jiangda in a 3-0 win over Shandong SL on Saturday.
She has taken her goal tally to 17 in the Chinese Women’s Super League this season.
Temwa is the leading goal scorer in the league, with eight goals above Zambian Barbara Banda.
The goal means Temwa has equalled her sister Tabitha Chawinga’s record when she scored 17 goals to win the golden boot award in 2017.
The 24-year-old said she was very happy with her performance this season.

“First of all, let me thank God for helping me. I thank team mates for supporting me. I am happy that we are getting the points,” she said.
Temwa has already won two golden boot awards and two cups.
She scored 15 goals to win the Chinese Football Association golden boot award after winning a similar award with six goals in the Chinese National Cup in April this year.
Wuhan have 40 points from 15 matches, five points above second-placed Shangai RCB.
