Renowned musician Thomas Chenkhumba Chibade is no more.
The artist died Wednesday at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe.
The wife confirmed the development Wednesday evening but could not be drawn to shed more light.
But one of the relations, Chiko Mbewe, said later that Chibade was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after feeling unwell.
“It is painful that Thomas Chibade is no more. He had a liver problem. We are coming from the mortuary. The family will have to discuss issues to do with the burial,” Mbewe said.
Some of Chibade’s songs include ‘Zatukutsira’, ‘Aeiou’, ‘Our Love’, ‘Freedom Fighter’, ‘Mawu Anga’ and ‘Bulu Wanding’amba Nthiti’.
He came in the limelight in 2005, when he debuted with Zatukutsira, which was recorded by Ralph Ching’amba.
