Silver Company Secretary Peter Masiye said they are shocked by the charges. “We have read the charges and we are just shaking our heads in disbelief. This is clear witch-hunting. Not only are the charges vague but also sham.
“You read the particulars of the charges and you ask yourself what exactly is the offence here? This is not Sulom we voted for. Nothing has changed. We believe they have framed charges against us due to pressure from the media,” Masiye said.
He cited last year’s incident when Sulom withdrew a case against the Bankers.
“If you remember very well last year, Sulom framed charges against us; they said Bullets had lodged a complaint against us.
“During the hearing Bullets denied in other words Sulom woke up and framed charges against us. The case was dismissed by the committee. The same is repeating itself. We are a cash cow for Sulom. Very sad,” Masiye said.
However, sports analyst Frank Chakanga said teams should learn to control the actions of their officials, players and fans.
