The Central Government has said it has released K85.5 billion to councils under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) mechanism so that contractors can start implementing projects across the country.
This is according to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Decentralisation, and the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, which indicate that the funds are meant for advance payment to contractors.
